PREAMBLE
This event is a CELEBRATION OF THE 40th ANNIVERSARY of the First Hillclimb and the Official Opening of the HILLCLIMB at Ringwood Park Motorsport Complex on the 15th & 16th February 1986 which was part of the Twin Rivers Festival organised by the Raymond Terrace & Districts Chambers of Commerce. The inaugural Hillclimb was promoted by the Newcastle Motor Racing Club. and 28 drivers competed.
- a) In 2014 the Ringwood Hillclimb track was significantly extended by our club and a new finish line established as part of a safety upgrade. The original track configuration A1 is no longer used. For this Anniversary Hillclimb, the slightly modified version of Track A1 will be using the new finish line. The Track is designated A1A. In the second section of the day Track A2A will be used.
- b) Besides a Competitor, with a Motorsport Australia Speed Licence and a Competition Vehicle, any person may, by purchasing a Motorsport Australia Single Event Speed Licence $85.00, which can be paid for along with the completed document on the day, and there is no necessity to be a member of a Car Club for this Licence. Consider entering your present day road car to compete in, it may be faster than your old race car anyway? It will need to be Scrutineered, have Signage, a Fire Extinguisher and you will need to have or borrow a Safety Helmet as well as wearing neck to wrist and to ankle non synthetic clothing and no synthetic material in your footwear. The Club will process these licences with Motorsport Australia.
